Frequently Asked Questions about the School of Counseling

1. What are the locations?

Currently the courses are active at the offices of: Milan, Varese Ligure (SP), Schio, Padua, Lecce, Verbania. Programs are being prepared at new locations including Rome and Pistoia.

2. What is the commitment that is required in terms of attendance and work at home?

The annual calendar is divided into:

Theoretical-experiential seminars structured on weekends for a minimum of sixteen days a year
Technical-application seminars: residential intensive seminars divided into two periods, for a minimum of four and five days each
Individual sessions, internship and supervision: the internship takes place within the training course and includes a minimum of 40 hours. over the four years. Individual and supervision sessions take place for a minimum of 50 hours over the four-year period
Reports: Reports on the previous seminar must be submitted electronically by the next seminar
Exams: the final exam consists of an oral exam on the fourth-year term papers

3. What is not included in the installment?

The annual fee is set at Euro 1850 plus VAT. It includes participation in theoretical and practical seminars and intensives application technician. Attendance at the lessons is bound to the respect of the deadlines of payment. The fee does not include individual and supervision sessions, food and accommodation during the residential intensive seminars

4. What qualification is required?

The first level (three years) of the Counseling Skills Course (CC) for obtaining the Counseling Skills Certificate (CC) is open to all.
The second level (one year) is open to all students who have already turned 23 in possession of a qualification that gives access to the University in their own country: Higher Secondary School diploma - high school diploma, but only those with a university degree will be able to obtain the Integral Transpersonal Counseling Diploma (CTI).

5. Does it support me when entering the world of work?

Om Association, founded in 1982, aims to develop, promote and disseminate the humanistic and transpersonal approach in the field of health, psychophysical well-being and personal evolution. The Association has offices located throughout the Italian territory (Click here) and a network of professionals who coordinate activities in compliance with the Statute, Regulations and Deontological Code of the Om Association and SIBTE (Click here).

The Association and the network of professionals support young counselors in spreading their business, guaranteeing their professionalism.

Associazione Om is also present at major festivals and fairs dedicated to holism and well-being (eg: Belgioioso, OlisFestival, etc…).

In addition, a monthly newsletter that reaches almost 10.000 contacts is made available to students and alumni.

6. Regarding the methodology: I would like to know what is special about this course compared to the others

The School of Integral Transpersonal Counseling contemplates an integral vision of the human being in which the spiritual level is not configured as an added element but as the ordering principle.

The current scientific revolution, which sees how a new unified paradigm is being imposed from different fields of knowledge, from quantum physics to the philosophy of science, brings to attention the original meaning of psychotherapy as a cure for the soul, within an area of care in which the sacred dimension is central. That meaning for nearly two centuries has been relegated to being a forgotten side; it proposes a new type of science in which it is accorded to first-person methods, which also include the contemplative attitude, the same dignity attributed to them in third person, to which the primacy of scientificity is attributed.
The mechanistic approach considers normal the state of consciousness mediated by sensory and logical structures, in relation to the external world, well oriented in time and space. For the transpersonal vision, the psyche cannot be traced back to the mind and the mind cannot be placed in the brain. In transpersonal culture, consequently, la consciousness it is an incessant flow that permeates everything, it informs the mind, the emotions and the body. It follows that one of the fundamental points of the methodology is the work with the different states of consciousness and the acquisition of inner technologies for their mastery.

Biotransenergetics responds to the need born within the new paradigm of approach that can respond to the needs of this new vision, in which the human phenomenon and the helping relationship must necessarily decline. beyond the mind e beyond the world of knowledge, providing the proper tools to explore "the realms of consciousness".
For a long time research in the Human Sciences has considered only the elementary needs of the human being, leaving out the determinants of a higher order, defined as “non-homeostatic” or “meta-motives”; among these higher order determinants we find: the need to give meaning to life, the drive towards self-realization, the sense of transcendence. As the revolutionary advances made in various disciplines of modern science continue to demolish the now obsolete materialistic worldview of the last century, it is already possible to see the emergence of the generic form of a new understanding of ourselves, of nature and of the universe in which we live.
We begin to become aware of the fact that the spiritual dimension plays a fundamental role for the human being in one's life, as happens for sexuality or family relationships. Therefore it is not possible to continue to leave the spiritual dimension of existence outside the helping relationship.
