ITI CLINIC

Head of the ITI Clinic Unit: Dr. Simona Paese

the unit

ITI Clinic

The Unit dedicates its specific contribution to understanding the experience of illness and symptoms and delves into the exquisitely clinical application of BTE, highlighting the integral quality of its action as a methodological expression of a psycho-spiritual discipline therefore aimed at the care of the person in union of mind, body and spirit.

Illness and symptom are seen as the light on the evolutionary path, rather than the obstacle, consequently the treatment proposal is based on a dynamic process of loving dialogue and alliance with the symptom rather than on its mere elimination.

The symptom itself can be understood as an opportunity to recognize the sacred in every experience and to make suffering transformative and evolutionary. In this sense, the treatment path is also a cognitive and awareness path and proceeds in a continuum from more passive therapeutic practices towards self-care practices.

Trauma, addiction, symptoms such as anxiety, depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder, phobias are reread and re-understood in the transpersonal mode, not something wrong and deviating from the statistical average to be normalized or adjusted, but as the communication of self that asks to be listened to and understood to achieve a new balance.

The intent of the Unit is to highlight the clinical value of the BTE Corpus in the classically defined psychopathological experience and to disseminate the clinical knowledge of the BTE approach both in the wider community for the benefit of the promotion of people's physical, mental and spiritual well-being, and in the scientific community and professional, promoting the growth of knowledge of care and therapeutic effectiveness.

Contemplation, through an empty and awake gaze, of suffering and illness offers the possibility of detecting recurring structures, regularities in the symptom and above all in the treatment paths.
The Unit, consistently with the BTE epistemology and ontology, does not provide protocols and adopts the phenomenological and non-nosographic or categorical transpersonal tradition, at the same time it uses trans-learning and dynamic and participatory observation of the clinical experience to propose a structured reflection on the recurrent forms of different symptoms and mental disorders, researching good practices and guidelines to improve the mastery, awareness and clinical effectiveness of the treatment community.
To this end, the reflection includes the comparison and integration between the different cognitive, somatic and spiritual healing traditions and methodologies, maintaining the lowest common denominator of the transpersonal essence.
Digital technologies, practices of cognitive or psycho-corporeal derivation, new and ancient traditions, technologies of the Self of phenomenological derivation or technologies of the sacred, all the contribution of art, awareness and meditative practices, knowledge deriving from neuroscience or evidence based, are all incorporated and revisited through the transpersonal gaze and put at the service of care in a coherent and unitary modality.

Thematic cores: Trauma, Addictions (substance and non-substance), Anxiety and forms of Anxiety, obsession and OCD, Phobias, Mood Disorders, Emotions and emotion regulation, Stress, Work-related stress and burn out, somatic disorders, pathologies of relationships, clinic of sexuality.

FEATURES

– Non-dual definition of the disease and sacredness of the treatment: in full respect of the suffering of the person who experiences the symptom or psychological distress, the BTE clinical intervention includes the pain, restoring space for its intensity, for its transformative charge. The strength that manifests itself through the symptom and the sacredness of the experience of the disease and of everything that manifests itself as a result of it and its resolution is highlighted.
While maintaining the focus on the experience of suffering and the resolution of suffering, the treatment of mental distress is considered, in fact, one of the forms of the path of personal growth or evolution of the self.
– Integrated and integral approach: the BTE clinic addresses all bodies (physical, energetic, emotional, mental and spiritual) as a psycho-spiritual discipline, consistently the treatment methodology ranges across different levels and involves the intervention of multiple professional figures who work in harmony and following a single line of care in the specificity of their action (psychotherapist, doctor, physiotherapist, counselor, art therapist, experts in non-traditional care, etc.). In general, the BTE approach does not separate mind, body and spirit and moves, in the approach to illness, by integrating the contributions of cognitive, somatic and spiritual practices.
– Centrality of the group: illness and treatment are not individual issues, but collective experiences, which not only concern us as they are related to human nature, but manifest themselves within a field and through systemic and collective dynamics. The BTE experience observes that the treatment process is maximized and simplified in the group setting which does not present itself as an alternative to the one to one setting, but as a proposal that can complete and improve the experience of individual psychotherapy.
